How to measure
- Measure brick to brick across the top, middle and bottom of the opening.
- Measure the height from the finished floor or step to the underside of the lintel, on the left, centre and right.
- Take the smallest of each and deduct 10mm from the width and the height for fitting.
- Enter the overall size including any side panels and top light. A cill goes below, so leave it out.

About our made-to-measure composite doors
Our composite doors are made to measure with a 48mm solid timber-composite core, multi-point locking and a fully welded uPVC outer frame.
You design the door above, see it drawn to scale from your sizes, and get the price straight away. Each door is made to your measurements in our Essex factory and delivered across the UK.
Composite door designs, colours and glass
Start by choosing a layout: a door on its own, a door with one or two glazed side panels, or any of those with a top light across the full width. The designer works out the panel split and shows it under the size fields.
- 12 door designs: 6 Panel, 4 Panel, Cottage, Sunburst, 2 Square, Diamond, Half glazed, Arched glass, 4 Square Centre, Farmhouse, Contemporary slim and Contemporary bands.
- 13 door colours: White, Anthracite Grey, Black, Red, Blue, Green, Chartwell Green, Duck Egg Blue, Agate Grey, Cream, Plum, Oak and Rosewood.
- Frame and inside colour: a white frame, or a frame foiled to match the door, with white or your outside colour on the inside.
- Door glass: obscure (standard on front doors), clear, satin or decorative leaded.
- Handle finish: chrome, satin, gold, black, graphite or white.
You also choose the hinge side and whether the door opens inwards or outwards. Our guide to door glass explains the privacy options.
Security, thresholds and extras
Every composite door has multi-point locking. For extra peace of mind you can upgrade to an Ultion anti-snap cylinder, rated TS007 3 star and Sold Secure Diamond. Read more in our door locks and security guide.
Optional furniture includes a letterplate with an inner draught flap, a door knocker, a spyhole, stick-on house numbers and a security chain, all in your handle finish.
Choose a standard weather-sealed threshold, a low aluminium threshold that is easier to step over, or a Part M accessible threshold for wheelchair and pushchair access. You can add a cill in several depths and a fitting kit with fixings, packers, foam and silicone.
Measuring, delivery and guarantee
Measure the opening brick to brick at the top, middle and bottom, and the height at the left, centre and right. Take the smallest of each, deduct 10mm for fitting, and enter the overall size including any side panels and top light. Our door measuring guide walks you through it.
Made-to-measure doors take 10 to 14 working days. Delivery to UK mainland addresses is £39 inc VAT, or free on orders over £300. Frames, sealed units and foils carry a 10-year guarantee, and hardware is covered for one year.
We supply only and don't fit, so you will need your own installer. Trade customers get ex-VAT prices and 10% off with a trade account.
Questions about composite doors
Can I return a composite door if I change my mind?
No. Each door is made to your sizes, so it can't be returned once production starts. Please check your measurements before you order.
Should my front door open inwards or outwards?
Inwards is standard for front doors. An outward-opening door saves room inside and resists wind-driven rain.
Can I save my design and come back later?
Yes. Save your design and we'll email you a link and your quote, which works on any device.
What if I'm not sure about a measurement?
Call us on 020 3488 9299, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, and we'll talk it through with you.
